Medicine X Story
Working as a medical doctor, I realised that far too many people are confused about their diagnoses, their conditions, and their treatments. The language that doctors use, and what every day people understand can be two totally different things.
We believe everyone should feel informed and empowered, so they can engage with their doctors and be involved in making medical decisions. That’s why Medicine X isn’t just another boring and complicated fact sheet – we explain medical issues through stories based on real people! It’s relatable, simple, and gives you the information you need!
We hope this helps you in your journey!

Don't Take Our Word for It
Here’s what others are saying about the Migraine Xplained story and group
I love how the app talks about how migraines happen in the brain. I also love how there is information on migraine triggers that may help me.
This app is wonderful, very informative, and easy to understand. It helps explain what a migraine is to those who do not understand...I had my Mom look at it and she was very impressed, as I am.
This app perfectly describes how I feel most of the time.

Meet the Creators
Meet the artist and story writer behind Migraine Xplained!
The artist
Amelia Navarro
Amelia Navarro is a Spanish illustrator who works in a sunny studio in Alicante, Spain surrounded of comics and accompanied by her cat Watson. In her childhood, she realized that the best way to make reality her dreams is drawing and since then she has not left the pencil. Her collaboration with Medicine X gave her the opportunity to explore an unimaginable facet of her profession: helping people understand diseases through her illustrations. Since the beginning of 2016, she has taken part in several works with Medicine X and wishes that patients will learn and enjoy her stories (like she!).
The writer
Shawn deLoache
Shawn deLoache is a Los Angeles based writer for TV, Film, digital, and comics. He’s written everything from gut-wrenching dramas to supernatural comedies, and yet he says “I've found nothing has the same impact as working with Medicine X. I've always thought of stories as a gift. Normally that gift is entertainment, but with Medicine X it's so much more. With Medicine X the stories we're telling, I'm telling, aren't just a gift of entertainment (though I hope they entertain), but of knowledge, of support, of helping people understand their illness and knowing that they're not alone. It's the kind of writing that makes me feel like I'm making a difference, and for that, I am very humbled, proud, and grateful to be a part of the Medicine X family.”
